What Is the AR Series Power Rail System?

The AR Series is a power rail built specifically to run power (and now USB charging) along rows of auditorium-style seating — lecture theatres, conference centres, cinemas and boardrooms alike. Rather than treating power as an afterthought bolted onto the underside of a seat, the AR Series integrates it into a purpose-built rail that runs the length of the row, sitting low and out of the way — just clear of the carpet, tucked beneath the seat frames — with outlet and USB modules set flush into the rail at regular intervals along the row. The result is power at every seat without a single loose cable, extension lead or trip hazard in the aisle.

Meet the 45 Series Auto-Switched Outlet

At the heart of the system is our 45 Series auto-switched outlet, fitted in the rail alongside a separate USB-A + USB-C charging outlet at each position — two distinct outlets, sitting side by side, rather than one combined faceplate. The auto-switching function on the 45 Series power outlet means it only draws power when a device is actually plugged in, which helps manage standby load across a row with dozens or hundreds of outlets — an important consideration in large venues where every outlet adds up.

With a dedicated USB-A + USB-C outlet fitted next to the power outlet, the rail covers the charging needs of phones and tablets — a small detail that makes a noticeable difference to the experience of a full-day conference or lecture series.

Finished to Match Your Space, Not the Other Way Around

Auditoriums and lecture theatres are architectural spaces as much as functional ones, and the AR Series is finished accordingly. The power rail and outlet housings are available in any powder-coated colour, so the system can be specified to disappear into the fit-out — matched to seating upholstery, frame colour or joinery — rather than standing out as an obvious retrofit. In a dark powder coat against black seating, for example, the rail reads as part of the seat structure itself rather than an add-on.

Retrofit or New Build — Your Call

One of the most practical advantages of the AR Series is flexibility of installation.
