When selecting a data cabinet, it’s essential to know its static load capacity — this is the maximum weight the cabinet can safely support when installed and not in motion. The static load includes the total weight of all mounted equipment, cabling, and any accessories fitted inside the cabinet.

Unlike dynamic loads (which involve motion, vibrations, or impacts), static loads remain constant over time. This means your cabinet should always be installed in a fixed, stable position and loaded within its specified static weight limit to ensure safe, long-term use.

As a general rule, a cabinet’s dynamic load capacity is usually 3–5 times lower than its static load capacity.
